If the dead animal is on public property and is a non-domesticated (wild) animal, call the Road Department Office: 706-769-3912.

If the dead animal is on public property and is a domesticated animal (cat, dog or other pet), call the Animal Services Office: 706-769-3956.

If the dead animal is on a State highway, call the GDOT Athens Area Office at 706-583-2644.

If the dead animal is on private property, it is the landowner’s responsibility to dispose of the animal properly.
