As a reminder, the May 19 General Primary and Presidential Preference Primary election has moved to Tuesday, June 9.
Early Voting began Monday, May 18, and will continue Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., until Friday, June 5, at the Board of Elections office located at 10 Court Street, Watkinsville.
Saturday voting will take place on May 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will close on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.
Please note that this office strictly adheres to the CDC guidelines regarding six-foot social distancing for the safety of our voters, as well as our poll workers.
If you voted in the March 24 Presidential Preference Primary in person or by mail, your vote will count. If you did not vote in the Presidential Preference Primary, you will be able to vote a combined ballot which will contain both the Presidential Preference Primary and the General Primary election.
Many of you have requested Absentee Ballots by mail. We strongly encourage you to consider voting by mail. Absentee Ballots by mail are counted and cast in the same manner as Early Voting ballots and Election Day ballots. We have installed an Official Absentee Ballot Drop Box in front of the Elections office for your convenience. In the interest of preserving the integrity of this process, we have dedicated a security camera to view and continuously record activity at the ballot drop box. The deadline for requesting an Absentee Ballot by mail is Friday, June 5, at 5 p.m. and the deadline for accepting Absentee Ballots is Tuesday, June 9, at 7 p.m.
Please feel free to call our office at 706-769-3958 if you have any questions. We recognize that this has become a confusing process, and it is our goal to help you navigate through it as quickly and efficiently as possible.
