Oconee County BOC November 5 Meeting Highlights


The Oconee County Board of Commissioners held its regular meeting on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. The following actions were taken at the meeting:

  • Announced upcoming Veterans Day Ceremony that will take place on November 11 at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial at Oconee Veterans Park
  • Presentation of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs PlanFirst Designation to the Planning & Code Enforcement Department
  • Recognition of Oconee County Fire Rescue Medical Responders for their exemplary response in saving the life of a resident who experienced a cardiac event
  • Approved Memorandum of Agreement with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for the PlanFirst Community Designation
  • Approved deviation from minimum roof pitch for a home on Burger Road
  • Made the following appointment to the Board of Health:

  • Made the following appointment to the Farmland Preservation Committee:
  • Carole Ludwig
  • Made the following appointments to the Library Advisory Board:
  • Frederick Lutz
  • Sandra-Lee Zahrn
  • Mark Campbell

  • Daphne Norton
  • Received First Quarter FY20 Financial Update
  • Approved use of SPLOST accrued interest in an amount not to exceed $60,000 for Farmland Preservation to assist in funding a conservation easement for 40.8 acres of the Randy Wilkes Farm
  • Approved Records Management Resolution revision
  • Approved Jail Reimbursement Fee Agreement
  • Approved Memorandum of Agreement with Northeast Georgia Regional Commission for 2020 Community Development Block Grant Application and Grant Administration for the Senior Center Expansion
  • Ratified the Upper Oconee Basin Water Authority FY19 Revised Budget and FY20 Proposed Budget
