November 7 BOC Meeting Highlights

BOC Chamber with Dias and Chairs

The Oconee County Board of Commissioners held its regular meeting on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. The following actions were taken by the board:

  • Announcements 
    • The next Oconee County Town Hall Meeting will be held on November 15 at 6 p.m. at the Oconee County Administrative Building and will focus on proposed changes to homestead exemptions that residents will vote on in 2024
    • Sunday November 5 was recognized as Retired Educators Day
  • Approved with one condition Rezone #P23-0164 for a change in conditions for Rezone Case #1433 for 3.04 acres located at 1071 Chestnut Glen; Residential
  • Approved with three conditions Rezone #P23-0181 for Rezone from AG to AR for 10.37 acres located at  1160 Maxey Road; Residential
  • Approved with six conditions Rezone #P23-0186 for a change in conditions for Rezone Case #2841 for 2.0603 acres located at  Hog Mountain Road; Vacant
  • Approved with two conditions Variance #P23-0187 for a variance to exceed maximum allowed parking for 2.0603 acres located at Hog Mountain Road; Vacant
  • Ratified Mathias Corporation as General Contractor for Courthouse Elevator Project 
  • Approved FY23 Year End Budget Amendments 
  • Approved a change order for Fire Engine 701 
  • Approved Bear Creek Water Treatment Plan Expansion Design Services
  • Approved a new alcohol license for Costa Alegre Seafood and Grille, LLC 
  • Appointed Jason Slider as the Oconee County Magistrate Court Prosecutor
