Advisory on Potential Traffic Delays Due to Sewer Line Construction

Oconee County News

Oconee County will soon break ground on construction of a new sanitary sewer pipeline on Daniells Bridge and Government Station Roads beginning in October 2022, with an estimated completion date of March 2023. The Contractor constructing the work is Po Boys Plumbing, Inc., Winder, GA.

Construction will occur along the shoulder of Daniells Bridge Road from the bridge crossing at Barber Creek southward to Hog Mountain Road and on Government Station Road from Hog Mountain Road southward to the bridge crossing at Lampkin Branch Creek.

Periodic delays of one (1) lane on the two roads is anticipated during the construction period. Delays will be limited to the immediate area of the Contractor's construction activities and are anticipated to require no more than 1,000 feet of traffic disruption and only during daylight hours. Complete closure of the two roads is not anticipated and traffic access will be maintained at all times.

The Contractor will provide temporary traffic control measures, including signage, flagging personnel and automatic flagging equipment for all work within the road rights-of-way.

A map illustrating the complete route of the planned sanitary sewer pipeline is attached for reference. Questions and comments regarding the project may be directed to Lance Raines, Oconee County Project Representative, at (706) 310-6019, or by email at lraines@oconee.ga.us.
