The mission of the Oconee County Probate Court is to administer justice with fairness, equality, and integrity, to resolve matters before the court in a timely manner with trained and motivated staff, and to provide courteous and prompt service in a manner that inspires public trust and confidence.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
No marriage license issued on Thursdays.
Applicants must first apply online (See the link below) then both come to our office to finish the process. See above for Marriage License hours
Requirements:
1) Each applicant must provide one (1) of the following forms of photo ID in order to obtain a marriage license:
- Georgia issued Driver's license
- Georgia issued Identification Card
- Armed Forces Identification Card
- U.S. Passport
- Driver's License issued by another state within the U.S.
2) If at least one applicant is not a Georgia resident they must get their marriage license in the county where the marriage ceremony will be performed.
3) Applicant must be 18 years old or older.
4) If applicant had a previous marriage, documentation must be provided.
5) Cost: $66.00 (without premarital education certificate)
$26.00 (with premarital education certificate)

Marriage Application
Persons Under Age 21 -If you are under the age of 21 and charged with a speeding violation of 24 mph or more over the posted limit, or any other 4 point violation, you will not be allowed to pay your citation prior to your court date and you must appear for court.

The Oconee County Judge of Probate Court is the Registrar and Custodian of vital records, which include birth and death records. Certified copies of birth and death records may be obtained at a cost of $25 for the first certified and $5.00 for each additional certified at that time.

NO GEORGIA WEAPONS CARRY LICENSE WILL BE ISSUED WITHOUT THE APPLICANT APPEARING IN PERSON AND PAYING THE REQUIRED APPLICATION FEE IN THE PROBATE COURT.

Requirements:
In order to begin the process to make application for issuance of a Georgia Weapons Carry License, the on-line application is mandatory and requires an Oconee County street address. No P.O. Box addresses will be accepted. The applicant must be 21 years old or older. The applicant will be required to come to the Probate Court Office, where additional application paperwork will be required. Applicant must show proof of an Oconee County street address, by providing a valid Georgia driver’s license or Georgia issued photo i.d. or most recent utility bill. In addition to the application, the applicant’s photo will be taken by court personnel at that time. At the end of the application it has, "Call for an appointment" NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED. Fingerprinting:
First time applicants or applicants with an expired weapons carry license, will be required to be fingerprinted at the Oconee County Jail after leaving the Probate Court office.
Cost of License:
First time applicant or applicant with expired weapons carry license:
$73.25 cash or
$76.18 credit card
Renewal Applicant - $30.00
A weapons carry license, may be renewed within 90 days prior to its expiration and no more than 30 days after its expiration.
