The Criminal Investigation Division responds to any major law enforcement incident that occurs in Oconee County. CID responds to crimes against persons, property crimes, investigates crime scenes, conducts long and short term narcotics investigations, and maintains all property and evidence for the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.
The Criminal Investigations Division has a close working relationship with other Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Agency, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Georgia State Patrol, and Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The Criminal Investigations Division also provides resources and shares intelligence with local and surrounding agencies.
