PLEASE NOTE:
Early
Voting for the March 6, 2012 Presidential Preference Primary
will begin on Feb 13, 2012. Voting will be held from 8
am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday through March 2, 2012 in the
Board of Elections office at 10 Court Street in
Watkinsville. Saturday Voting will be held on February 25
from 9 am till 4 pm. There will be
NO VOTING
on Monday, March 5, 2012
and regular voting will take place at your precinct's
polling place on Tuesday, March 6, 2012.
NO VOTING
will take place on election day at the Board of Elections
office
- you must visit your precinct.

simple log in process helps you access vital information for voting
in Georgia including, among other things, your voter registration
status, your polling location, sample ballots for upcoming
elections, and locations for early voting. To get to My

Department Responsibilities:
In addition to planning,
organizing and conducting all county elections,
the Oconee County
Board of
Elections and Registrations Office is responsible for recording
the voter registrations of Oconee County citizens and verifying
the legality of each voter. The Elections office is
accountable for the accuracy and validity of elections and for
abiding by all federal and state election codes.
Important information for citizens wishing to vote:
Qualifications
to Register: You must be at least 17-1/2 years old to register
and
18 years old to vote; a resident of the county in which you register; a
United States citizen; you cannot be serving a sentence for a felony involving
moral turpitude; and you cannot have been adjudicated mentally incompetent.
Voter
Registration Deadline is
the fifth Monday prior to the election (if Monday is a legal holiday,
deadline moves to the next day). The same deadline applies to changing your name
and/or address prior to an election.
Information
Required on Application: Complete name; residence
address; mailing address if different; county of residence; date of birth; and signature
or mark. Optional information includes race, gender and telephone number.
A Precinct Card
is Mailed to
the applicant once the voter registration application is approved. If you
do not receive your card within two to three weeks, please contact your local
county voter registration office.
